Toy Story 3 Raises The Bar

Since its release, Toy Story 3 has received nothing short of glowing reviews; managing to score yet another notch in the improvement stakes that should be implausible to achieve, but Pixar keep delivering. Now, Toy Story 3 has been crowned the most commercially successful Pixar release yet.

Currently, it has secured in the region of $940m worldwide, and looks set to over take Shrek 2 haul in the US domestic charts. It becomes only the second Disney film ever to pass $40million on home soil, and sits number 11 on the all-time list.

The point for releasing this information? Well in an opinionated post its nice to see that Pixar gain the acclaim and financial rewards that it so richly deserves for its endeavour to its animated art form. When it seems we are in a cinematic world that centres on gruelling production turnover, bastardizing any contemporary novel, graphic, comic or otherwise, Pixar are a fresh of fresh air. Long may it continue.
