It has been the subject of rumour since the not so acrimonious split between Marvel and Edward Norton earlier this month; but not without a lot of head scratching. Much in the same sense that the sentence: Edward Norton in a big budget CGI comic book franchise poses; is Mark Ruffalo's involvement as Norton's replacement. But it appears that the deal is done, according to Deadline.
But there is an obvious link; Marvel want an actor's actor to fulfil the role of Bruce Banner in their franchise. They are films that studio's executives scramble for the Chris Evans', Chris Pines' and Shia Le Beoufs' of the acting world; Yet in the case of Hulk the attendance register now reads, Eric Bana [Munich], Edward Norton [American History X] and Mark Ruffalo [Zodiac]. This is not your average 'go to' list for a comic book adaptation.
No confirmation as of yet, but with comic con still rolling why waste a big exclusive reveal if you can help it right?.
