Mark Ruffalo is The Hulk.

Speaking with New York Vulture Blog, Mark Ruffalo revealed that for the first time in his cinematic appearance, The Hulk will not be produced solely in the realm of CGI. Ruffalo, will don the ping-pong covered jumpsuit to produce a motion capture incarnation for his next outing in The Avengers.

"I'm really excited. No one's ever played the Hulk exactly, they've always done CGI... They're going to do the Avatar stop-action, stop-motion capture. So I'lll actually play the Hulk. That'll be fun."

Ruffalo, continued to divulge the possible direction for his characterisation of split duo, Bruce Banner/The Hulk.

"I really love the first TV version of it, the Bill Bixby one. I'm gonna shoot for that a little bit. He was an everyman in it. He's always on the run and trying to find love. It's really a sympathetic character, before he turns into the Hulk and fucks everything up."

This seems an interesting direction to take by Ruffalo, Comic Book Adaptations have in evolved into the exploration of light/dark psychologies of it's titular stars. Yet, sympathetic, love seeking everyman? Will The Avenger's interpretation of Hulk score with audiences or will Ruffalo join Eric Bana and Edward Norton in failing to do the big man justice.

Mark Ruffalo The Next Hulk?

It has been the subject of rumour since the not so acrimonious split between Marvel and Edward Norton earlier this month; but not without a lot of head scratching. Much in the same sense that the sentence: Edward Norton in a big budget CGI comic book franchise poses; is Mark Ruffalo's involvement as Norton's replacement. But it appears that the deal is done, according to Deadline.

But there is an obvious link; Marvel want an actor's actor to fulfil the role of Bruce Banner in their franchise. They are films that studio's executives scramble for the Chris Evans', Chris Pines' and Shia Le Beoufs' of the acting world; Yet in the case of Hulk the attendance register now reads, Eric Bana [Munich], Edward Norton [American History X] and Mark Ruffalo [Zodiac]. This is not your average 'go to' list for a comic book adaptation.

No confirmation as of yet, but with comic con still rolling why waste a big exclusive reveal if you can help it right?.

Edward Norton You Wont Like Him When He's Angry

You may, as we did at first, think that the picture of Edward Norton was possibly a candid photo taken from his recent meeting between Marvel Studios; who, as it happens has just unceremoniously dumped Norton from reprising his incarnation of the Hulk from the upcoming The Avengers. The reason is beautifully ironic.

A statement from Marvel Studio's President of Production Kevin Fiege read:

“We have made the decision to not bring Ed Norton back to portray the title role of Bruce Banner in TheAvengers. Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members. The Avengers demands players who thrive working as part of an ensemble, as evidenced by Robert, Chris H, Chris E, Sam, Scarlett, and all of our talented casts. We are looking to announce a name actor who fulfills these requirements, and is passionate about the iconic role in the coming weeks.”

So what is being implied by Fiege is that the giant green bastard does not like to play nice and share his toy's with the other monster's, well... no shit. Honestly, we are thankful for the news. Hopefully, just maybe, with contractual obligations torn up with Marvel and the Hulk, Norton can get back to testing roles with depth, because there is no doubting he is a fine actor.
