Confirmed: Nolan Talks Batman 3

With all talk at this point surrounding Christopher Nolan centering on his omniscient presence behind Warner Bros. Superman: Man of Steel, Empire managed to snap a exclusive confirmation that Batman 3 is officially underway and he will direct.

Speaking earlier today Nolan said: "It's becoming inevitable, I'll put it that way. I feel myself falling into it, i guess. And getting it all figure
d out and I'm pretty excited about what we're doings so...if i haven't announced it, i think that people probably all know at this point that I'm doing it."

Immediately after completing The Dark Knight, Nolan clearly stated that he would only return should the film offer something new and interesting as retreading old ground would not captivate him, let alone the audience.

Since the success TDK, Nolan busied himself outside the confines of Gotham City with his long-term project of passion, Inception which opened to critical and box-office success. More recently, Nolan has found himself in a producing capacity at Warner Bros. charged with the responsibility to revive Superman.

A
sked to clarify his position on whether he will direct the third installment, Nolan said: "I think you can at this point, yes".

Can we understand this to mean that Nolan is locked in? For now, yes. But, what is known for certain is that Nolan is currently revising Jonathon Nolan's script for the yet untitled Batman 3. So it is safe to assume, given that a script exists and is being meticulously 'figured out', that proceedings are moving in the right direction.

So what do you think...Is this installment one to far? Should Nolan have taken his own initial belief to stop at two? Or will the challenge not to drop the standard proof enough motivation to tie up a Nolan
-Batman legacy?
