The Dark Knight Rises Teaser Poster Released

With the anticipated release of the first teaser trailer of The Dark Knight Rises when Harry Potter is released on Friday, Warner Brothers' have released this tantalising poster.

The image echoes the crumbling dream world of Inception mirroring the chaos Gotham City was plunged into following Heath Ledger's Joker rampaging in the previous Dark Knight installment.

While it gives nothing away, it creates what Christopher Nolan always delivers. Intrigue.
The reverted bat symbol, 'The White Knight' that penetrates the surface of the underworld of Gotham or is it a symbol of what Christian Bale's Dark Knight must do - rise above the hatred - to become more than the scowling vigilante.

With a stellar cast including Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Diego Klattenhoff, Burn Gorman, Nestor Carbonell, Gary Oldman,
Morgan Freeman, Matthew Modine and Tom Conti, Nolan will deliver his conclusion to the Batman franchise.

What we do know is this, we will be first in line come July 20th 2012.

Confirmed: Anne Hathaway is Catwoman

After feverish debate and anticipation the line up for Christopher Nolan's Batman finale The Dark Knight Rises is taking shape with the announcement that Anne Hathaway is Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman.

Christopher Nolan stated: "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story."

It is indeed an intriguing choice. Hathaway, as the feline-femme-fatale does not spring immediately into focus. Get Smart, Bride Wars and the The Devil Wears Prada are testament to this fact.

Yet, these roles allow actors to evolve their characters beyond the realm of the ordinary; to create the sublime. But it comes with a risk, you can deliver performances such as Heath Ledger, Jack Nicholson or Michelle Pfieffer or be the next Halle Berry, Jim Carrey or Arnold Schwarzenegger. Either way you'll be remembered.

A Warner Brother's press release has also been confirmed that Tom Hardy will play the role of Bane. Forget Joel Schumacher's Batman and Robin massacre of characterisation. Bane is a mastermind, calculated, vicious and built like an ox. A compelling opposite to the chaos of Heath Ledger's Joker and not at all the green gimp that the aforementioned director managed to disgrace himself with.

Hardy's involvement will signal the reunion between actor and director, one that Nolan is pleased about. "I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman's most formidable enemies".

But what do you think to these choices? Once again Nolan has chosen to revise what has gone before, will there be room for scarecrow one last time?

Confirmed: Nolan Talks Batman 3

With all talk at this point surrounding Christopher Nolan centering on his omniscient presence behind Warner Bros. Superman: Man of Steel, Empire managed to snap a exclusive confirmation that Batman 3 is officially underway and he will direct.

Speaking earlier today Nolan said: "It's becoming inevitable, I'll put it that way. I feel myself falling into it, i guess. And getting it all figure
d out and I'm pretty excited about what we're doings so...if i haven't announced it, i think that people probably all know at this point that I'm doing it."

Immediately after completing The Dark Knight, Nolan clearly stated that he would only return should the film offer something new and interesting as retreading old ground would not captivate him, let alone the audience.

Since the success TDK, Nolan busied himself outside the confines of Gotham City with his long-term project of passion, Inception which opened to critical and box-office success. More recently, Nolan has found himself in a producing capacity at Warner Bros. charged with the responsibility to revive Superman.

A
sked to clarify his position on whether he will direct the third installment, Nolan said: "I think you can at this point, yes".

Can we understand this to mean that Nolan is locked in? For now, yes. But, what is known for certain is that Nolan is currently revising Jonathon Nolan's script for the yet untitled Batman 3. So it is safe to assume, given that a script exists and is being meticulously 'figured out', that proceedings are moving in the right direction.

So what do you think...Is this installment one to far? Should Nolan have taken his own initial belief to stop at two? Or will the challenge not to drop the standard proof enough motivation to tie up a Nolan
-Batman legacy?

Brandon Routh The New Superman

With Christopher Nolan overseeing the next DC Comic’s Superman project, it remains to be seen how far away from Bryan Singer’s homage to Superman it will go. But, if it were up to Brandon Routh one thing wouldn’t change; who pulls on the red pants.

At Comic Con Routh commented on the topic of Superman, saying “I think the brother Nolan are both very talented and o that makes it a different kind of film that would be than Bryan’ vision, which I think was a very nice film that I’m very proud of”.

But would Nolan look to Routh to fill those boots again? He was the perfect cast for Superman without a doubt eclipsing Christopher Reeve’s man of steel; it was in no way down to Routh that the film divided opinion. Routh says it best it was a ‘very nice film’, but it lacked real menace, threat or audience connection with its overly polished veneer.

Nolan's Batman Finale Countdown Nears.

Good News Everyone! A source has sounded out that Christopher Nolan's Batman third incarnation is set to shoot in April 2011. We would be the first to be wary of just any source, but, in this case we will make a exception.
His name... is Michael Caine. [Irresistible] while talking at the premier of Nolan's INCEPTION, Caine was asked whether or not his character and Batman franchise stalwart Alfred would be returning for Batman 3.

His response did not give much away; " I don't know about that but I think they're going to do it in April,". Apart from the start date bombshell. Obviously.

Our response is this, considering Caine has appeared in Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight and Inception, or every film in other words, every film Nolan has directed since meeting on Batman Begins we would be highly surprised if Caine does not don the coat and tail attire one last time.

This, as reported by Nolan, will act as a final chapter of a riveting trilogy. Nolan's vision turned the tide for comic adaptations solely being seen as a cash in the attic gimmick for Marvel and DC studios into engrossing film making.
